I've made some more wonderful purchases from Nicky

A beautiful little witch, called Tulip

I fell in love with the nice colours of her clothes...

Spring is coming

She immediately made friends with Ursula Underhill,

another doll by Nicky!

Ursula is hoping Tulip will be able to help her with her studying.

And these two just begged if they might come too...

Fleety the dragon and Mayhem the gremlin.

Aren't they cute???

But that was not all I found in the package....

Nicky really spoiled me with lots of presents.

The black dragon head was a bit difficult to photograph,

but believe me....he's beautiful!

Cascading geranium

Finally I finished my geranium!!!

I started this kit by my friend Hanny quite some time ago

and this week I found the courage to finish it

It is a wonderful kit.

The branches of the geranium really dangle

But you need some endurance!

Today I made a plant hanger!

Grandma thinks her little balcony is very cozy now

A better picture of the plant hanger...

I turned the pot a little,

because it looked better.

But I think I will have to add

some more branches to the right now!

Club, stairs and Mouse house books

Today we had another meeting of our dollshouseclub.

This time we went to Ineke

and she had prepared the workshop we did today!

We made printer's drawers...

The empty one has to be painted and filled.

But as you can see...

Ineke gave us enough to fill 10 more

The hearts, bottle and lady bug were gifts too!

Ineke was having a sale,

so I've bought some miniatures too...

The plastic tootbrush container was a gift too.

It will make a nice display case!

When I was home again

I stained the stair gates

and when they were dry,

I glued them in the house!

And I received my ordered books.

A 1:12 and a 1:24 scale version of the Mousehouse book!

Not the most fun or entertaining thing I have shown you...

but oh...it's amazing what it does to my tudor house!

Well...at least it is for me.....

maybe you won't even notice it

Today I glued wooden slats around the base

on which the house is standing.

And I glued the barge boards on the gable ends!

Now almost all the bare wood is covered!

I only have to think of a solution for the roof ridge!

But it's already looking very nice

And I glued really small stones on the roof of the attic door!

So that's finished too!

Doors

I've been making doors for my tudor house!

I still have to make 3 doors for inside,

but all the outside doors are now ready!

Grandma is very happy with her sturdy attic door!

I've stained both stairs too!

I'm not sure if these stairs will stay in the house.

I've made the whole house myself,

but these stairs were bought.

I think I want to be able to say I've made everything myself

But for now they will do!

Street stones

It is not all bad to be lying sick on the couch for a while....

While I was on the couch watching television,

I got my pile of egg cartons and cut hundreds of tiles

for the pavement of my tudor house

When I was feeling a little better

I glued them all in place!!!

Then I had to fill the holes between the tiles....

that was a lot of work

And after a lot of paint.......

It is finished!!!!!

well....I still want to add some weeds and moss

Camera and ceiling

I'm not so active at the moment...

I'm reading a lot!

But last wednesday we had our monthly clubmeeting!

We made an oldfashioned camera....

The one in the middle is mine...

I was a bit too busy with other things

But today I finished mine...

And I finished something else!!!

I wasn't satisfied yet with the ceiling in the dragontower,

so I added some jewelery findings and gold stickers!

And now I'm returning to bed...

A book about Hector and Agathe

Look what I found in my mailbox today...

A beautiful miniature book

with the story of Hector and Agathe.

Made by my friend Edith.

Hector is so happy with it...

He immediately looked for a place

where he could read the book quietly!

(yes..he didn't have to go back in the pillory...yet!!

I'm not always a bad person )

By the way....

Hector found a very unusual place to keep his book!!

On my Dutch blog I commented that this way he didn't have place for a heart!

Well...I shouldn't have said that

It looks like if my creations and I are telepathic connected..

every time I say something about them,

they know immediately!!!

so when I mentioned a heart for Hector..

just a few minutes later there he was!!!

Saying that he would keep the book somewhere else

and there was enough room for a heart!!!

He wanted a big one!

Well....

Hector now has a heart!

I don't really mind

as long as he doesn't start nagging me

about a stomach, liver, intestines etc.

Dragons in a barrel

I've given myself a very nice Christmas present....

but I had to wait until today for it to arrive

A barrel with pumpkins and 3 dragons on top!!!

I've ordered the little teapot for E-beertje

and the bottles were a gift from Nicky!

I just knew they were real.....

Look, I found proof!!!

Real mermaids...

well...what is left of them!

They've turned into mummies!

I have a friend who is collecting

strange things for her cabinet of curiosities,

so I've send her the left one!

This one I'm keeping myself!

They are almost 6 cm tall.

Euhm...the truth???

I've made them myself!

I used the top of a little skeleton

and with the thigh bone

and foot of a big skeleton

I have made the tail.

Then a little gesso and some paint

and voilà...mermaid mummies!

Did you know that in the 19th century people made mermaid mummies too??

They stitched the head and upperbodies of monkeys to the tail of a fish!

This one can be seen in National Museum of Ethnology in Leiden.

And now for something completely different...

I've made some more cages for the tudor market..

And these 2 were a gift from a friend!

The white one needs some work...

it's too white!

And these cute little frogs I bought from the same friend.

I'm sure a few of them will find their way to the market.

Hector and Agathe

Today was a very special day for Hector!!!

Some time ago, Hector saw a beautiful woman on the blog of Sjoukje.

Her name is Agathe and Hector fell in love immediately!!

When Hector heard I would be visiting Sjoukje today,

he came up with a plan!!!

During Christmas,

he really put an effort in singing christmas carols all day long

and after a while he earned quite some money!

The pillory he's in, stands before the tudor house

and the lady of the house came outside to listen to Hector sing.

I'm not sure what he said to her,

but he must have found the right words,

because before I knew what happened,

she released him from the pillory...

I was a bit curious what would happen,

so I just looked and did nothing

and soon I saw the wizard's wife

take Hector with her inside her house.

I heard her say

"let's see if my husband has anything suitable in his closet!"

I saw them going upstairs to the bedroom

and after a while I saw this....

Wow....what a metamorphosis

I also heard the wizard's wife say

that women love flowers and chocolate

and that he should go to the market

to see what he could get for his money!

Hector promised her to come back later

and show her what he had bought!

After some more advice,

the two of them came to me

and asked if Hector could come with me to Sjoukje!

How can you say no to a skeleton so in love???

I sure couldn't

So today, Hector accompanied me and my daughter Jasmijn

to visit Sjoukje and Agathe!

We didn't tell Sjoukje and Agathe anything,

so Agathe was still in the bathtub when we arrived!

But when she heard Hector was there to meet her,

she immediately put a towel on

and rushed over to meet him.

Hector really paid good attention to what he was told

and as a real gentleman he wooed her

with his charm and gifts!

I've made some new photos of the market place

under my tudor house.

I've received some new cages

and hanged them this afternoon.

The cage in the front on the left

was a gift I got with the "Sinterklaas-swap".

I've put a garden gnome in it....

nasty little creatures

And in the cage in the front you can see the Blob

I got from Birgit!!!

There is still room for a lot more animals

and other things...

but I'm not in a hurry.

But I should take care of the pavement..

I'm fed up with the bare MDF!!!

Christmas presents

We have been spoiled rotten!!!!!

Last thursday the mailman delivered a suprise package from Germany.

We immediately knew it probably was from

Birgit and Flutterby and M-tje and I were so exited!!!

First we were going to read the card,

but because I'm not so good in english,

M-tje started reading and I...

dived into the "kartoffeln"

And then we opened the packages!

Look.....

A beautiful nativity and I love those wooden decorations!!!

And a whole lot of other decorations too....lovely!!!

But there was more...

A sweet little glass dragon and cute glass birdie!!!

And those mushrooms are sooooo cool!!!

Did you see the "schwibbögen" wreath...I did

But there was still one more package...

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh....

it's a Blob!!!!!!!!!!!!

M-tje loved Birgit's Blobs and now she has her own!

I was in loooooooooooooove.

Ofcourse I opened the cage immediately,

but Blob didn't want to leave the cage

Birgit and Flutterby...this was a wonderful surprise!

We love all the presents.

Lady mice

Since january 2011 I'm following the blog

365muizen (365mice)

On this blog Marian shows the mice

she has made for her project.

The goal is to make 365 mice in 2011!

She just made Mouse 355...so 10 to go!!!

In July she put 2 mice on her blog she didn't want to work on anymore

and asked if there was someone who wanted to have them!

These 2 mice......

I was the only one who was interested,

so a few days later I found them in my mailbox

I immediately knew I wanted to finish them this year,

because Marian's project only lasted this year too...

but how??????

It took me 5 months before I knew

what I wanted to do with them

In my stash were some dollshouse dolls....

And then it went quickly...

I'm proud to present to you.....

Maria and Anne Muis!

Two best friends with big hearts,

because they were just finished

and already they adopted my little orphan mouse

that was laying in a box for years!!

Isn't she cute???

I have bought her some years ago on a fair.

She's made by Ria Odijk.

The three of them already found a nice place where they can stay!

New rooms!!!

My new rooms are ready!!!

My new workroom......

When you look through the doorway,

you can see the door of my "showroom"

The closet is my son's,

it didn't fit in his new room...

but I already confiscated 3 drawers for my things

The window frames will get a new color in the spring/summer.

And now the showroom....

The pink curtains will be replaced.

(I don't like pink very much )

I have to go to IKEA again....

I want one more chest of drawers

for where the boxes are now.

I'm very happy with my new rooms!!!

Working hard!!!

I'm very quiet in Blogland,

but I'm working hard!!!!

Both my son and daughter moved from their small bedrooms

on the first floor to the bigger attic rooms!

So we are moving lots of furniture

and are wallpapering and painting!

Both their rooms are ready now!

The room my daughter is in now was my workroom...

All my dollhouses, rooms, scenes

and all my materials were in that room!!!

So everything had to be moved......

Into the old room of my son...

We first put new wallpaper on the wall

before we placed my stuff there

This will be my new workroom

In our own bedroom we temporarily

placed the rest of my stuff

And in the hallway is some more

My daughter's old bedroom is almost finished!!!

Here I will put all my houses,

rooms and miniature scenes!

I'm going to IKEA this morning

to buy some new chests of drawers

(and probably some more nice things )

So the next few days I will be putting

everything in my new rooms!!!

It was beautiful packed....

I had won pirate scrolls and a pirate map,

but I found much more in the package...

Morpheus found a warm nest to sleep in...

And he's feeling right at home

Making dragons

Today 3 friends came to visit me.

We were going to make dragons!

It was a very spontaneous get-together.....

and those are the most fun ones

Without their examples,

we wouldn't have been able to make

such nice dragons and other miniatures!!

I'm not quite sure anymore that it was fimo!!!

Anyway.....I wasn't happy at all!!!

Yesterday 2 sweet ladies visited me

Jollie...who is visiting the Netherlands all the way from Greece

and Sylvia...who is a master in making dirty and old look beautiful!!!

Jollie and I met for the first time last friday on the fair in Arnhem!

Sylvia and I know eachother for some years now!

E-beertje and Dimphy had a wonderful time together too!

The lovely ladies came with gifts

Sylvia made me 2 beautiful bird cages!

And Jollie really spoiled me!!!

In the back you see a pot of jam made of figs and mountain tea!

And ofcourse she brought me miniatures

2 gargoyles, a greek windmill and little house,

a jar with black cat whiskers and a little statue of Atlas!

E-beertje got this sweet little toy with a ladybug....

and he wanted the cute little flower too

to hang in his cuddleroom

Ladies, thank you so much for your gifts,

but you visiting me was the best gift you have given me!!!

Dolls house fair Arnhem

This weekend I've been to the dolls house fair in Arnhem!

On friday and saturday I helped my friend Melissa

and on sunday I visited the fair with my friend Hanny!

And I have made some wonderful purchases....

My favorite one being the market Cross!!!!

The pillory is finished

Yesterday I finished the pillory!

I've added a lock and a hinge

and some metal thingies so the upper board won't fall off

On the left is a little troll...

I hope she will behave a little better now she knows

what can happen to her if she's naughty

The cart is finished too...

It only needs reins,

so the donkey can pull the cart!

The tables are ready too!

The photo's aren't very good...

the light is terrible at the moment!

Most of the animals still have to be put in cages (again),

but for now the immobility spells will do!

Pillory

This morning I made 2 more tables for my little marketplace!

This way I have a lot of space for animals and other stuff

And then it was time for the pillory!!!

Very quickly I found a victim

with whom I could take the right measurements

for the holes, height etc.

Do you want to see his backside??

I have to make hinges on the upper board,

so the poor soul can be freed at some time!

And of course everything has to be painted!!!

Birds, dragon, egg and cart!

Last time with our dollshouse club, we made birdcages.

This morning we made some birds to put in the cages!!!

Still have to put some paint on them!

After 2 birds I wanted to do something else...

so I started playing with the clay and after a while....

I had made a little dragon!!!

(watch out Nicky!!! )

I had a little clay left, so I also made an egg.

My first dragon is far from perfect,

but I love him anyway!!!

And he will get the best place in the tower...

on the sorceress's chair!!!

This afternoon the new wheels arrived for the cart!

I'm very happy with how it looks now!!!

Tables and cart

I've been woodworking today

I've made 2 tables for my little market and a cart!

The cart isn't quite finished yet and I want nicer wheels!

The cart is from a description I found in an old American Miniaturist

and there is also a description for a pillory that I want to make!

When I have finished the cart and the pillory I will paint/stain everything...

but I'm sure you don't mind seeing a photo of how far I am now

Cages

Some time ago I bought a few cages and I have made 2 myself.
And suddenly I knew what I wanted to do with them!

My tudor house has a kind of marketplace on the right!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with..

but now I do

I want it to be a market

where you can buy all sorts of magical animals!

I hanged all the cages and I want to make tables

where I can put more cages on

And Ursula found herself a pet!!!

well...actually he found her

For some time now I saw him wandering around the tudor house!

When he saw Ursula he went straight to her

and he hasn't left her side since!

Maybe not the most standard choice for a witch's pet,

but they seem to like eachother

when I found two of them as a gift in my package.

I love it when you're not looking for miniatures

Did you know that Nicky....the wonderful woman

who makes those beautiful dragons I'm addicted too.....

makes beautiful dolls too????

I saw some beautiful ones made by her on ebay...

but I don't like ebay at all!!

But a week ago she placed 3 girlwitches in het Etsy store...

and one of them is now mine!!!

Meet Ursula Underhill....

The witch I bought some years ago on a fair

has immediately adopted her as her apprentice!!!

Nicky made up the name and she also made up a wonderful story about Ursula!

Ursula was not blessed with looks, or a sharp mind or even courage. She may have a good magical aura but she is literally afraid of her own shadow. She always likes to see the good in people. But unfortunately not all people or things, for that matter, are good. Some are downright evil. So you shouldnt be surprised to learn that her first day studying the dark arts has left her not able to sleep, spending all night making a witches tangle to keep those bad spirits at bay and some handcuffs just in case that doesnt work. She didnt even sleep soundly knowing her athame was sneakily hidden in her hat at the ready! Poor Ursula, look at those blood shot eyes!

Ursula stands at 4 inches tall from top of the head to the tip of her toes. She has joints at her neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, hips and knees. She can be posed seated or standing (as shown in the photos above) She has Sculpted head/neck, arms/hands and legs/shoes.
She has a soft wired body so is easily posed.
She has hand made bloodshot brown eyes, dark blonde viscose hair.
She comes dressed in lawn cotton fabric bloomers, dress, and apron, with a black vintage kid leather hat.
Hanging on one arm she has her witches tangle, with lots of items to scare away all that is not good and a scroll in her hand! Hanging at her waist is a set of metal Keys on a purple 2mm silk ribbon, On the other arm is a set of handcuffs for any strays and a tag enchanted with goodness. She has a little brass fluer delys at her neck, In her hat you will also find her silver athame and reminder tags... (breathe in, breathe out.....find a paper bag......and other incantations)

I love her!!!

And because Ursula is so afraid of everything...

Nicky thought it would be wise to give her a companion for the trip!

And a barrel with something for courage and travel sickness!

Furniture dragon tower

It's been awhile ;-)

My notebook crashed, but I have a new one and thankfully most of my data has been restored!!!

I've been making furniture for my dragon tower.....

The bookcase is straight......but alas.... the floor isn't

But with a little more work...

I also made the table.

And I bought two lamps for this room!

The chair was painted and upholstered!

On a fair I bought a nightstand.

I painted it and removed the door so a dragon can lie there

I want to make a stack of books for him to lie on!

Miniatures from my holiday and birthday

Last friday we got home from a wonderful holiday in France.

We went to Paris....

to the Dordogne.....

and the Loire Valley....

I didn't find very many miniatures this year,

but I didn't came home empty handed

The painting and shopping cart are E-beertje's souvenir's...

I'm sure he will tell about them himself!

The 2 little owls on the piece of agate were my birthday gifts from my kids!

I bought another Venus of Willendorf (already have one from Germany).

The dragon came from a castle and the Egyptian statue came with the first episode of a series,

bought in the supermarket for only 1 euro!!!!!

Lots of birthdaycards and presents

My friend Kootje made me the beautiful embroidered pillow with lavender.

And my friend Jolande brought me a souvenir from Riga,

a beautiful book for my sorceress to put all her spells in!!!

There was also a package waiting for me...

It came from Nicky...the one that makes those beautiful little dragons!!

Just look how she spoiled me for my birthday!!!

The mailman brought some wonderful mail today!!!

I will not be home for my birthday this year,

so my friend Nella already sent me a birthdaygift

She gave me a wonderful knitted little black owl!!!!

He immediately flew to the owls on the sign board,

but he looked a little bit dissapointed when he saw the were wooden fake owls

Luckily there are a lot of other owlfriends to find in the tudor house!!

Thank you Nella, he's wonderful and I'm very happy with him!!!

The mailman also brought a package...

She said he wanted to live with the other dragons in the dragon tower!!!

He immediately started takling to the dragon in the chestnut shell.

Some miniatures

Last week I was home alone for a few days

and to be honest I didn't do a lot with miniatures those days

I read a lot and saw quite a few movies!!!

But I wasn't completely idle those days

I painted the dower chest I put together some time ago

and now it stands in the dragon tower!

I have to find something soft to put in the drawers,

so the little dragons have a nice little bed to sleep in!

Mummyhair would be perfect,

but I already used that in the nest for the dragon egg

I had some dragon pendants

and I used them to decorate the dragon tower!

I hope to find some more when we are in France,

so I can decorate the other sides too!

I stained another dower chest.

It stood unpainted in my tudor house for years!

It looks a lot better like this

and it's not that big a job....

so why it had to take me so long to do this?

I made a little table for the 1:24 beach cabin...

The outside of the beach cabin looks nicely decorated also

I made the poppies from a kit by Hanny

And I made a hat for a witch...

Still one of my favorite miniatures to make!!!

Gremlin and dragons

A week ago I received another package from Nicky

When she showed this little gremlin....

I was sold!!!

When he's a bit more settled,

I will try to leave the door of his cage open...

but I have been warned gremlins can not be trusted

And of course I couldn't resist buying some more goodies....

This 3d portrait of Skully now hangs above the desk of the wizard,

but maybe he will be put on the front door (not made yet),

so he can lure in customers

The unicornhorn Nicky gave me another time has found his place also!

and of course.....dragons....

This one in his tub wanted to live in the dragontower so badly...

how could I ever say no...

And this little one needed a home too

And I got the most wonderful gift from Nicky...

Furniture, gift, purchases

I'm a bit behind...sorry!!!

The last few weeks before school is over it is always a bit frantic!!!

A week ago I've bought two more Nella dolls!!

They look just like my two kids, so I called them Jasper and Jasmijn

And also a week ago I had another dollshouseclubmeeting!

We made travelbags!

I've made one 1:24 scale for E-beertje!

The unicorn and shoes were a gift!

One of the clubmembers was selling a few furniturekits...

I just couldn't resist

I found some more in my own stash

and the last week I've been putting them together!

The drawers of the left chest don't fit...

that will take some serious sanding I think

The clock will become a steampunk clock!

I still have to paint everything,

but I want to wait until I know what I want to use them for!

The dower chest will go into the dragon tower....

the 2 drawers will be perfect little beds for 2 more dragons (Nicky!!!!!!!!!!)

Today my friend Hanny came for a visit and to bring me 2 poppies-kits.

She also brought me a gift...

A nice anchor on a shell!

I'm going to paint the shell

and then it will look lovely standing in the sand next to the beach cabin!

And today the postman delivered a package from China!!!

I'm not sure where I saw them first, but I just loooooove those cute little cages!!!

So I couldn't resist buying some for myself

Bookcase for the beach cabin

The mummy returns!

Yesterday I finished the mummy...

a little bit more color and a bit of hair

Today I made a glass case to put him in!

I think he died of a broken heart..

just look at him lying there with his hands on his heart.

It almost breaks mine

I don't think this will be the last mummy I will make...

it was so much fun to do!!!

I'm thinking about a mermaid mummy!!

Did you know in real life they made mermaid mummy's

by attaching the upper body of a monkey to a fish's tail

Would be fun to put one of those in a miniature cabinet of curiosities

More dragons!

I've bought 2 more dragons

When I made the fireplace in the dragontower,

I made a gap at the bottom of the fireplace,

because I thought it would be fun to place a little dragon there!

So when Nicky made some new dragons last week....

I rushed over to her store to buy a suitable one

And because it is a long travel from her home to mine....

I bought a second dragon, so the little ones wouldn't have to travel alone!!!

The sleeping one is going under the fireplace...

I also bought a bottle of dragonblood..

you never know when a dragon will need a bloodtransfusion or something like that

And Nicky added a gift....

a unicornhorn!!!

On the label it says "no unicorns were harmed!"

The mummy

Wanted to show you what I'm working on.....

Some time ago there was a tutorial for making a mummy in the online magazine CDHM

It looked like a fun tutorial,

so today I started with making a mummy for my M-house,

where a archeologist will live.

The mummy isn't finished yet,

but when it is I want to place it in a glass case

and put it in the house as one of the finds of the archeologist!!!

This morning my mother and i went to Ineke, a friend from our dollshouseclub.

We helped her sorting out the leather we would need for next week,

when we have another clubmeeting!

But Ineke wouldn't be Ineke if she would let us go home emptyhanded

look what she gave me....

The dolphin and slippers are for E-beertje's beach cabin of course

The dragon will find a place in my dragon tower

and I want to age the bust so it will make a nice archeological find

that will go in my collectors/archeology house.

I'm sure the rest will come in handy too!

Acorn cup hanger

I like macramé very much as a technique!!!

So today I made a planthanger...

not for a plant....

but for an acorn cup.

Some time ago I bought a little babydragon in an acorn cup.

He's made by Traci Howard of Feythcrafts

I couldn't just put it on a shelp or on the floor...

it wouldn't lay propely

So I made it a hanger.....

Until I find the perfect place fot it..

it may hang on the bed!

Or if that is the perfect place for it...

then it can stay there

I borrowed the woodblocks from another fireplace,

Fireplace dragon tower

Today I wanted to work on my dragon tower!

For some time now I wanted to make a fire place...

but I wasn't quite sure how to do it,

but today I just started and this is the result....

Not quite finished yet....of course

I want to make a wooden shelf around the fireplace...

where the 2 pieces meet.

That way it will look nicer and I will have room to put some little items on!

And the fireplace is much too clean!!!

From a friend I got a sturdy table.

I dismantled it completely and then used the wood to make a smaller table.

Now the sorceress has a nice table to work on.

(Nicky.....I need a little dragon that will go under the fireplace....

I left a little space there...nice and warm...just right for a tiny dragon! )

Lighthouse wallhanging

I finally finished my peyote lighthouse wallhanging!

It was a lot of work, but it was fun to do!

But if I'm going to make something similar again???

I thought it was too big for E-beertje's beach cabin...

but I wanted to use it in there anyway!

Last friday, when I got home from work, here was a big box waiting for me on the dining room table.

On the box I saw the name of Birgit....ooooh...I could hardly control myself to not rip the box open

Birgit and I know eachother because we follow eachother blogs.

She has a wonderful and funny blog called BiWuBären on the Blog, and one of the bears she made, Flutterby, is the main character in the stories on her blog.

We have al lot in common, Birgit and I......we love making bears and using them in our stories...we are both working on a magical tower and we are both addicted to Nicky's little dragons

In the nice card I found in the box Birgit said she thought something she made would fit perfectly in my tower, so she made one especially for me!!!

This is what I saw when I opened the box...

Mmm...chocolate!!!

E-beertje wanted to open his present first!

Flutterby added it especially for him!!!

Look!!!!!!!!!!!

Comics about Scrooge McDuck and a very nice glass squid!!!

M-tje....I'm going to take everything to my beach cabin.....

Maledictus de Spell, a wise sorcerer's head!!

E-beertje immediately asked the advice of Maledictus...

he wanted to know if he could use the wand to transport himself to Flutterby,

because he wanted to thank him in person for the wnderful present.

Thankfully Maledictus is very wise indeed and remained silent!!

I'm not so happy with E-beertje using a magic wand

Birgit wrote she wasn't sure if Maledictus would behave...

but he looks so friendly and innocent...

I can hardly believe he's capable to anyting naughty

Tragedy in the wizardhouse!

I should have know it would go wrong someday!!!

I have the dragontower located next to the wizard house

and with all those little dragons in the tower,

there had to go something wrong

And today...one of the dragons escaped

and flew to the room of Merlin!!!

Do you see how startled the friend of Merlin is looking???

This is why....

Merlin's beautiful white snowowl has been eaten by this little scoundrel

All that is left are a few feathers!

The little dragon has one in his paws...

he's caught red handed!

And in the dragon tower,

the sorceress is unknowingly busy

with giving a new orphan a bath...

His name is Walter and he has a unusual bathfriend...

It's Wart, his sweet little toadfriend

Wart adores his big dragonfriend...

Both dragons and Wart are made by Nicky, "the Mini Dragon Queen"

I received her package today

I bought also a little dagger from Nicky

and she gave me some wizard papers.maps as a gift!

Gazebo

I'm working on a peyote wallhanging at the moment!

Wonderful to do, but it bores me quickly,

so after a few rows of beading I'm off to do something else

I thought it would be nice to finish something for a change,

so I finished (well... almost that is) my gazebo!

I wanted an aged gazebo..

as if it had be standing in the garden for years!!!

My own little place..

where I could sit and drink a cup of tea while enjoying a nice book.

I might replace the blanket with another one

and I want to add some plants I think...

but for now....it is done

I worked some more on the gazebo today!

When I placed a doll with it, it was obvious the gazebo is very small!

So I removed the horizontal plank in the opening.

This way it is a bit easier to sit down!

It is a bit small...but she can sit!!!

Fisrt layer of stain is on...

but it isn't going to stay this color!!

I do too....but I'm not quite sure about the scale....

it looks a bit too small to be 1:12th

and it is too big to be 1:24th

I have a new addiction!!!

I'm starting to build up a nice collection of miniature dragons!!!

The little dragons by Nicky's Dolls and Critters are my favorite...

they are so tiny and incredibly cute!!!

Today I dressed the doll that's going to be the sorceress who's going to live in the tower.

yesterday I already wigged her,

because my mother had a dressed doll without a wig

and she wanted me to teach her how to wig the doll.

And because it's always easier to show and tell instead of only telling...

So today I dressed her!

I still have to drape the dress so it falls a bit more natural...

but what do you think???

With the pattern I used there was also an apron

and I thought it would be practical for her to wear one....

with 7 dragons already living in the tower and some more on their way...

But what do you think....

with or without apron???

In her hair she wears a nice hairpin.

She already feels at home in the tower

Cupboard beach cabin

I don't have much energy at the moment.

I don't feel like blogging or making miniatures

and something's wrong with Blogspot

because I can't leave comments on other blogs.

(so it's not because I'm not interested in your work...I just can't tell you!!!)

But this afternoon I kicked myself in the ****

and I made a little cupboard for the beach cabin!

I have a cupboard in 1:12th scale I like very much,

so I copied that in half scale!!!

I used a napkin Jollie gave me to decorate the cupboard!

And I filled it with shells and other beach finds!

And this is how it looks on the porch of the beach cabin!

I'm very pleased with it

Sink and bed

On monday I made a sink for the beach cabin!

E-beertje wanted a bed....but he has to learn how to be a little bit patient

But who can say no to such a sweet little bear???

So today I made him a bed

The duvet is tucked in neatly,

so E-beertje can use the bed in daytime as a sofa!

I bet you he wants to stay the night in his beach cabin tonight

This afternoon I picked up the package at the post office!
Wow..the box is huge!

Inside was a smaller box....

but the gift was still very much worth it!!!

In january I saw on Jollie's weblog "A Little More Minis"

the most beautiful fairybed, made of driftwood!

I really loved the bed and told Jollie so...

and then she offered to make me one for my sorceress tower!

Isn't that sweeeeeeeeeeeeet

And today my bed arrived!!!

It is gorgeous!!!!

I asked Jollie not to put flowers on the bed,

because I wasn't sure what colors I wanted to use for my tower!

so I might add a few details (and a mattress, sheets etc)

But I really love my bed!!!

Thank you Jollie for this wonderful gift!!!

And she spoiled me even more.....

It was not an ordinary day today!!!

And I'm glad it was not an ordinary day ...

bcause then I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did today

The mailman delivered 2 packages this morning!

the first I opened was from "Nicky's Doll & Critters Online Store"

and contained a cute little dragon!

His name is Shaky!

The next package was beautifully wrapped!

And contained the beautiful lamp I won at the give away

by Catherine of "Kilmouski and Me"

Catherine put in an extra present...

a nice frame I can use for a painting or mirror!!!

The lamp is really working...it is so beautiful!

It stands in my tudor house now,

but it is a bit to fancy for the wizards,

so it will eventually go in another house I'm still working on!

I'm so proud to own now one of your beautiful miniatures!

Later this morning the regular mailman came by

and brought me a kit of a tapestry made of beads!

The technique is called peyote bead work.

I've bought it by Nalladris

I'm going to take this with me, when we go on holiday!!!

Dolls house club may 2011

today we had a meeting of the dollshouse club at my place!

Another member prepared the workshop for today!

We were going to make a sink for our 1:24 house (that we still have to make )

It wasn't quite finished when the ladies left,

so I finished it this afternoon.

The little furnace was the workshop we did in april,

but I hadn't finished that one also...

so I did that this afternoon too

The sink still needs a tap and the furnace a pipe...

Of course E-beertje was the first to come and take a look at what I was doing,

especially when he saw I was working in 1:24 scale

M-tje....I could use a sink for my beach cabin!!!

Oh rats......the little curtain is green

and that doesn't go very well with my blue cabin!!

Beach cabin almost finished!!!

I was hoping I would have the cabin finished by now...

but I still have to paint a few last decorative boards (if that's the name for them ;-))

But I did get very far!!!

E-beertje is so happy with his new little house..

and so am I

And now I can start with making the furniture

and other things to make the cabin a cozy place!!

But that will not go as fast as the cabin.....

I want to work on my tower again....and on my tudor house...

and maybe on the new project that's growing in my head

Carving Gargouilles

I've bought this book....

Yes...a book about woodcarving!!!

I'm not sure if I'm going to try woodcarving,

but I would love to make some gargouilles or grotesques for my tower

and I already knew this book from another blog.

I thought a woodcarving book with a step-by-step explanation would have very detailed photos and it does!!!

So I'm going to use those photos to try and make gargouilles with polymer clay

And who knows....maybe someday I will try woodcarving too

Yesterday I went with my family to Schiermonnikoog.

(a Wadden island)

We had a wonderful day there together.

I bought a souvenir for E-beertje....

a little boat to go with his beach cabin!

E-beertje was with me too and he found some big shells

and a nice plate (button) for all the little shells he already had!

His friend Pearl wanted to try the boat...

she's very excited about this new project of ours!!!

Today I've been working on E-beertje's beach cabin again!

Well......he was doing something else

When I was ready he came to see how the cabin looked!

He loved the painted floor!!!

The little pillow he has with him,

was a present by my friend Sjoukje!

I made a joke about knitting a blue pillow with an octopus on it....

and she made it!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working on the beach cabin again today!

E-beertje was not to be seen anywhere...

I think he was beachcombing...

or making a list of what he wants in his cabin!

But when I was ready with wallpapering the inside of the cabin,

I called him because I was curious what he would say!

Hey M-tje.....look at what I found!

Do you think i can use it in my cabin???

Maybe it will come in handy E-beertje...

but please....be careful with it!!

A new project...yesss, another one!!!

This morning I started a new project!

Yesterday a friend gave me some measurements and

I knew there were pictures of the 1:12th version in 2 dutch dollshouse magazines.

So I started measuring and drawing and sawing....

and when I got the basics ready...

I called E-beertje!

Ooooooooh M-tje...

it's a 1:24 beach cabin!!!!

I wanted one so much!!!

The one I saw at your friend Sylvia was so lovely,

but a little bit too big for me...

but this one is just perfect!!!

Can I go in???

Euh....not yet sweet boy...

it doesn't have a door

But we can fix that!

And I will study all the pictures...

and then I will get you a list with all the things I want in it

Telescope

A telescope was on my to-do-list for a very long time

and when I started with my tower

I knew the roof terrace would be a good spot for a nice telescope!

I used most of the day yesterday looking for parts and trying different parts on different spots

and at the end of the afternoon I was finally satisfied with the result!

this morning I attached the last gears and decoration pieces

and I think it was worth all the trouble and frustration......

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course there immediately was a volunteer for trying the telescope....

but I'm wondering if he was looking for stars...

the telescope was suspiciously aimed at the neighbor's bedroom window

She didn't have room for it anymore in her dollshouse.

But he won't go into the tower...

It took me ages this morning to make a railing on the balcony....

but finally I was satisfied

I think I want something on top of the beads,

but I'm not quite sure what!

A doll shows that the height of the balcony railing is much better now

E-beertje suddenly felt the urge to act out a very famous balcony scene

I worked on the tower again today!

I made the frames for the doors and windows.

They still have to be painted,

but it is already much nicer than before!

And I love the shadows!!!!

Update tower - april 6, 2011

It's not going as fast as in the beginning....

but I'm still working on the tower now and then

This afternoon I dirtied the balcony so it would blend in with the rest!

And while I was at it....

I gave the grotesques also a matching color

On the attic floor I suggested floorboards by making lines with a needle.

There will be a dragon living in the attic...

so the floor will hardly be visible!!!

And on top of the roof I painted a compass.

I used a template,

but I had to repare the painting by hand,

because a lot of paint went under the template!

But I'm happy with the result!
