Orrery ceiling

Not yet finished...
but the important items are in place

Ever since I visited in Franker the Planetarium
and saw the beautiful and impressive orrery in the living room of Eise Eisinga,
I thought it would be wonderful to try and make something like it in miniature!

And when I planned a tower for a sorceress interested in starlooking,
well....what better place for such an orerry

This is how it looks when you look straight at it...

(I have to thank my friend Jolande for the idea to put a light in the sun...
she did the same with her orerry...go take a look!!!)

And how it looks when you look at the ceiling....

I want to add some more decorations...
I was thinking about 4 images in the corners.
I came up with a dragon, a lion (my zodiac sign), a pentagram and a ???
Anyone have an idea what else I could use??

I would love to have a ceiling like this......
I think I'm going to ask my husband if he thinks it's a good idea

And for anyone who will be near by Franeker.....
you have to go and visit the Planetarium!
It's not a big museum, but very impressive and beautiful!!!

Gorgeous Ceiling, Margriet! What a great idea! Perhaps your fourth image for your corner should be a tree? Or a bird? (Eagle, Dove or Phoenix come to mind!) I am sure that what you choose will be Fantastic! I may have to borrow some of your ideas when I finally get to my Wizard's Tower part of my Castle! I am Loving your project!

I'm blushing ladies...thank you so much for your nice comments! And it isn't even finished yet ;-)
Daydreamer...borrow whatever you want :-)

Absolutely impressive - great, great job!!! Chapeau! ;O)

We have a little suggestion to make for your corners... what about putting symbols of all zodiacs in the corners, sorted by elements for example. (Flutterby suggests to add the "Great Bear"... maybe E-beertje will support that suggestion, too... tsss, typical teddybear). But that's just us thinking aloud - whatever you will do, it will be gorgeous, that's for sure.

Greetings
Flutterby + Birgit
