Lady mice

Since january 2011 I'm following the blog
On this blog Marian shows the mice
she has made for her project.
The goal is to make 365 mice in 2011!
She just made Mouse 355...so 10 to go!!!
In July she put 2 mice on her blog she didn't want to work on anymore
and asked if there was someone who wanted to have them!
These 2 mice......

I was the only one who was interested,
so a few days later I found them in my mailbox

I immediately knew I wanted to finish them this year,
because Marian's project only lasted this year too...
but how??????

It took me 5 months before I knew
what I wanted to do with them

In my stash were some dollshouse dolls....

And then it went quickly...

I'm proud to present to you.....
Maria and Anne Muis!
Two best friends with big hearts,
because they were just finished
and already they adopted my little orphan mouse
that was laying in a box for years!!

Isn't she cute???
I have bought her some years ago on a fair.
She's made by Ria Odijk.

The three of them already found a nice place where they can stay!
In the lavender shop!
I think they look just right there!!!

Trunk

On the dolls house fair in Arnhem
I bought a wonderful kit by Sylvia's Lutje Boudel
and the last few days I've been working on it!

The birds and bears are by Nicky.

Some close-ups...

I found the perfect place for it.....
my lavender shop!!!
It was a wonderful kit to make!!!

Update and euh.... a new project???

My lavendershop is slowing down a bit....
the kids are free from school and I do a lot less when they are around...
too much distraction

But the furniture is white!
And the window is nicely finished.
I placed the counter underneath the window.
In the front I want a low table,
so I might saw the legs off of this one...or I will build a new one!

I've put some bottles in the cupboard, but i'm not sure if they will stay there.
They are quite purple and I think I want more lavenderblue miniatures!
But.....it looks nice for now and I can always replace them!

Lots of room for more lavender articles!

But....euh......I got a wonderful idea this morning!!!
For quite some time now, I've been thinking about a tower!
I want to make a tower with in the attic space for owls to live
and on 2 floors there will live a wizard
(or sorceress...I still have many naked womendolls lying around,
so a sorceress is maybe a better idea)
who is interested in the stars and planets!
That way I can make many orreries and telescopes etc.
I'm still not bored with magical miniatures,
but my tudor house is almost full!!!

So....a tower!!!
I was making al sort of plans how to build one...
but then I saw this lantern!!!

I bought  probably a year ago
and I still didn't have a clue what to do with it!!!

And this morning I knew it could be a tower!!!
Not quite sure yet if I will replace the glass with wood!
this way you can see everything very good,
but you don't have any walls to place something up or against!
Well.....just have to think about that for some while!
But it is big enough for 2 floors and a little attic for the owls!
Will have to make a opening in the roof, so you can see the owls!
The flying holes are already in it

Euhm....I think I will take my ruler, pencil and saw and retreat to my hobbyroom!
There's always room and time for another project

Update lavender shop

I love updates...do you???

A few clearer photos of the lavender shop!

I painted the window on the inside,
the outside just needed some touching up
and then I glued it to the wall!
The brickpaper was already on the outside of the room,
I only want to age it a bit!

The lavender miniatures are already in the cupboard and on the table.
And I got some more furniture from my stash!
The counter will be painted white!
the countertop glass was already missing,
so I removed the rest of the "glass" also...
much easier when you have to paint!!!
Oh...the window is not quite ready on the inside...
but it's just an update....
I'm far from finished with this roombox

New Project-Lavender shop

Someone else is working on a soapshop (Karin)
and that was such an inspiration for me to start something I wanted to make for a long time!
A lavender shop!!!

So yesterday I looked through my stash
and found a corner room with a wooden floor,
a nice window and some furniture
and that was the starting point of my little shop!

I made a hole in the wall for the window
and put new wallpaper on the walls
Today I cut the wallpaper to size
and I painted the window on the inside!
There is still lots to do,
but I looooooooove starting new projects
